WHO WE ARE
Rookery and Roots Conservancy is an environmental 501c3 non-profit organization registered and based in Rincon, Georgia. We believe in the valuable relationship between the land, wildlife, and people, forming a unique biocultural landscape that defines a region. Our mission is to conserve biodiversity and preserve cultural heritage of the Lower Coastal Plain to benefit wildlife and people. We are dedicated to the following stewardship avenues; protecting land, restoring ecosystems, preserving history, and promoting communities that depend on the natural environment. Our efforts are rooted in our passion and appreciation for natural history science, bird conservation, rewilding, Gullah Geechee culture, and the people that call the Lower Coastal Plain home. By protecting the relationship between nature and culture, we strive to ensure a future where people can sustainably coexist with the ecosystem for generations.
